Shared Ministry and Leadership
We live in a world burst wide open by technology, in a generation ungrounded in the traditional religion of their parents and grandparents, in a time when our congregational demographics are changing dramatically, and the economic and political climate of our country are putting pressure on a multitude of social justice issues. We must be grounded without being isolated. We must be kataphatic about who we are without being disrespectful of who we are not. We must learn to use the wide world of technology and innovation without losing our ability to connect on a deeply personal level.
I believe in the priesthood of all believers, calling us into covenantal shared ministry with and for each other. As an adaptive leader, I will thoughtfully communicate my ideas and visions in a way that enables others to understand why these ideas are important and how they can help in moving toward these shared goals - building on the past through experimentation and diversity in order to bring about change that enables the capacity to thrive.
