Theology and Ministry

What We Share and What May Be Different Between Us
I identify as a mystical pantheist with a strong dose of religious humanism and a healthy integration of my Catholic upbringing.  I believe in a Spirit that moves through all things, in the inherent divinity of all beings, and in the responsibility of all of us - in community - to create the kind of world that respects and celebrates this divinity.  I was a spiritual "seeker" for the majority of my young adulthood, and while I've now found a theology that holds and guides me, I am also always exploring and learning.  This journey of faith is a long and winding path, full of surprises and unexpected gifts, sometimes joyful and sometimes lonely.  I may not understand or share everyone's experience of religion and theology, but I am honored and excited to walk the path with them when I can.

I approach my ministry with intention, attention, and compassionate curiosity.  By opening myself up to integration of my Catholic heritage, continued exploration of the feminine divine and pagan practices, connection with Nature and wisdom from a variety of peoples and cultures, I have been able to create a hybrid language and liturgy that is authentic to my “heart-set” and meaningful for those I am serving, whatever their language of the holy may be.

While our differences add flavor and depth to any relationship, what’s even more important for me is our shared grief at immense loss, our common fear of the unknown, our unexpected delight in the small things.  There is room for growth in all of us, and our differences can provide places for that to happen through gentle challenge and respectful dialogue, but it is through our shared experiences of deep emotion that we open up to one another in ways that relationship (and transformation) can occur.
